Keith passed away on Wednesday October 26th, Keith had been battling Leukemia for the past 16 months. I had the honor of meeting Keith back in 1993 at one of the first Conventions I attended as a guest along with Keith and other great masters of the genre. I have been interviewed and quoted many times when asked who I would consider "Keith Parkinson". Keith's attention to detail, use of color dynamic and insane patience with foliage, Tree bark, chain maile and everything you can imagine are unmatched in my observation and have always been a bench mark I hope to someday achieve. On a personal note I was always impressed at what great father to his children Keith was. I watched many a day at convention witnessing what was clearly a great relationship his children. I was shocked and speechless when a patron told me at a show I was at over the weekend. Keith is just a few years older then me I thought to myself. Then you stop and realize that Leukemia and other devastation diseases show no favor to us at any age. Perhaps the characteristic I witnessed him enjoy the most was his comedy be it dry humor at times. This showed in his works many times as well. I'll never forget how every time I would ask him to autograph my convention book or something he would always write " To Ed, I'm your biggest fan"..... Then he would smile and get a kick off how I would bow to him to pay homage. He has left an tremendous legacy for all who love true classical Fantasy
